I laugh, in absolute terms
No grim half smile measures here
The screaming raucous banshee laugh
Of warrioress sisters, mercifully free.
This plate is empty, like recent sentiments
Hungry adjectives, delusions swallowing
All but the rising dust of farewells feet
Yet I remain, still just a thought, dangling in love’s sea.
I pass the time, polishing
The mirrored emptiness of platitudes
Marvelling at just how far ‘out of’ is in falling
While romancing the shadows; dreams coldly sing.
This dance is a tempest
Blowing indifference on the tides
But I was your muse, your friend and lover
Long before I became the thorn in your side.
